When he looked at the sky, he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like.</p> <p>Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared.</p> <p>But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, 'Is the coming winter going to be cold?'</p> <p>'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,' the meteorologist at the weather service responded.</p> <p>So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.</p> <p>A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?' </p> <p>'Yes,' the man at National Weather Service again replied, 'it's going to be a very cold winter.' </p> <p>The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find.</p> <p>Two weeks later, the chief called the National Weather Service again. 'Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?'</p> <p>'Absolutely,' the man replied. We do not have to prove anything. We do not have to succed at anything. We do not have to excel at anything. We do not have to win a race. We do not have to liveup to others expectations. We do not have to have targets. We have to 'Live' that is why we are here. Now some of us may choose to be rich and work all our lives mking money and having the finest things that money can buy. Some of us may strive to be great sportsmen and women, winning aclaim and medals. Some of us may want to be recognised as 'celebraties' or to be famous for some work or deed. But at the end of the day how you live and what you do with your life i entirely up to you and no one else. You make your choice and take the rewards and the consequenses equally. At the final moment of your life you will have done exactly what you were put upon the Earth for.. At his best he was a British Country Music Award winner but ill health together with drink and prescription drugs overcame him and he died young and alone.<br> He was a "good old boy" from Leominster in Herefordshire, a 'ladies man' as well as a 'mans man', he had a good sense of humour and his home was always full of visitors. I know that for all his faults and eccentricities he will still be missed by many. More like Bah Humbug summer. Here we are in September and not one ripe tomato.
